Not sure what you are saying there. But your system will try to boot in the BIOS order. So your HD has to be in the boot order prior to the CD.
I have mine set to boot floppy drive first, then the HD with any others disabled. That way if I want to boot up dith a Ghost floppy I don't have to go into BIOS first. I just put the floppy in and do a restart.
