Is the slave drive formatted NTFS or FAT32? You may have to check the disk management console to see that.

If it is NTFS, then you should be able to deny access to it if you want. First, open Explorer, select Tools...Options...View, and then under Advanced Settings make sure "Use simple file sharing" is NOT checked (should be at the bottom). Once it is unchecked, the security tab in a folders properties should become available.

If it is not NTFS, then you will probably have to use some kind of utility to protect it, which isn't nearly as secure.
