In addition to the obvious issues of whether it is just the username/pwd/ etc, have you checked to see if your browser is up to speed with what they want .. is it 128 bit?
And finally have the site's admin check if they have a list of IPs allowed, some authentication also involves the username & IP matched, and since you changed access methods, it doesnt work.
