You shouldn't have to update the bios with that processor. If you do, XP can make a DOS boot disk, it's in the format options. Make sure that the 256mb ram module you are getting is LOW density, try it BEFORE you put the new processor in to make sure it's compatible. You may have to rearrange your modules in the slots to get them all working together.
