do you have both pcs set to the same workgroup? you can check by clicking start>right click my computer and go to properties> in system properties window click on the computer name tab click the change button to view and or change your workgroup name on each pc to be the same. you will have to restart each pcs before the change will take effect.....
do you have folders set up to be shared over the network on each pc? right click on the folder you want to share and select sharing and security, check share this folder give it a name. after you share it you should see a hand on the folder.

double check your settings on each pc to to make sure they are automatically searching for network folders and printer. you can check these settings by right clicking the start button> click explore>then click tools>folder options>click the view tab and the make sure the first option is checked.

are you able to see the other pc in my network places but not the folder that is being shared out?
