The Media Center Edition of Windows XP is not a good choice for recording musician. There is no additional feature(s) that could be taken advantage of so it would simply be a waste of money.
And to your comment - I know I didn't find everything based on a need to shop at NewEgg. As much as I like NewEgg and find their prices attractive and their customer service top notch, there are some things they do not offer. Considering the given nature of this build, I gave my opinion based on my experience - 20+ years of experience BTW - and what I suggested from QuietPC.com is well worth using a second vendor IMO.
