You didn't attack me personally - I was referring to the comment directed at Confused. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
ACPI = Advanced Control and Power Interface - this is power management and resource (IRQ) management. It's a good idea in concept, but can cause problems because it usually piles all your AGP, PCI, and USB devices up on the same IRQ and *supposedly* manages the interrupts itself. This does not always work as advertised, so I prefer disabling it.
Back to the original post - do your Epsons have true DOS compatibility or are they strictly GDI printers? That's the issue here......the original poster stated he needed DOS compatibility. I have an HP 882C - and it is NOT a true DOS compatible printer but it will print in a DOS window. The 895C is true DOS compatible - it has 4 megs of ram onboard and will work with almost any DOS Deskjet driver - such as a 560C.
