It is a 120mm on the top. I went with a 120mm so I could have a "quieter" fan running there that pushed a good amount of air. It's one thing to have LOUD fans inside the case but to have a loud fan as an EXHAUST or INTAKE is a whole new world noise.
As far as the top panel coming off, mine is riveted on. Which ofcourse sucks. It would be nothing to take the dremel and drill out the rivets and add my own screws but I didn't feel like doing it at the time.
The cd case window thing worked out perfect in more ways then one. First of all the cd case is a darn near perfect fit in the top there and it just so happens that the square I cut out actually made mounting the thing a breeze. The cd case edge near the front of the PC is actually placed on top of a "LIP" in the case. All I had to do was use some double sided tape or hot glue on the back side, near the fan, and it was in good and snug. I put the trim on before I put the window on btw.

cool--yea i dont really understand the trim yet. im going to try to get a dremel so i can do a bit o' moddin myself. i like ur idea of the top window with a mirror. i kinda like the cd drives with windows too, but just moving the drives down like you did seems a good option also. might "borrow" that 1 from ya! i was thinking though dvd-rw in top slot, fan controller 2nd, stealthed dvd-cdrw 3rd, maybe ill just move it all down one, who knows. idk if ill do the window or not, maybe ill test that out on my ghetto old comp and see how i like it. but i definetely think that 120mm needs to become a blowhole when it arrives. did you dremel that hole? i heard just to dremel it out but dont go outside the line of how big the fan should be, then use a sanding bit. i need to get the dremel first, but i wanna do that, because i have 2x80mm intake fans and no exhaust. even thouh im getting a 60mm fan for exhaust, some of the wiser 'mech users have told me not to have more intake than exhaust...its like an "oven" effect.
btw, i found a pretty easy way to take out those grilles. i know you have a dremel, but for those of you that dont and have thos type of punched-out restrictive grilles, just grab a basic drill. drill a hole into each of the 4 points which connects the grille, start small, and go bigger until you cant go any bigger without going outside of teh fan hole. once ur there, get some type of cutters and just clip the two small pieces of metal holding on each of the 4 connection pts of the grille. then sand it down, its as easy as that. mine didnt come out PERFECT, but if i had sanded more they would have. they look fine anyway--the new grilles connect at the same points as the old ones, so u cant even see the minor mistakes i made. im gunna try to "borrow" my sisters digi cam once i get my order in from svc...and once i get my dremel. ive been dyin to post some pics, even though i havent gotten very far modding wise yet. im slowly getting much better though, starting smaller and hoping to go bigger w. the mods.
