I have a total of 6 intake and 3 exhaust and my case runs pretty cool. I think the NUMBER of fans is irrelevant if your careful about fan arrangement and mind your CFM's.

Example, my four front intake fans are all cheapo quad LED's that push probably only 25-30cfm each. The side instakes do about the same. The 120mm blow hole pushes a considerable amount more and so does the 120mm in my PSU(new PSU since pictures were taken). Then theres that little 60mm on the back which I put there mainly to pull the warm air away from the "black box's" on the motherboard which have heatsinks on them. Not sure what they are but I understand they have a big effect on power rail stability and should be kept cool when overclocking.
yea ok...so basically ill be running a similar setup to you. i dont really utilize the front four 80mm ports all that much--used to have the fans that came in the side part in them along with another old 80mm, but they seemed to make things worse/were VERY loud. im definetely getting the dremel and going w/ the 120mm blowhole. i might get another 120 and continue my plan for hte front 80mm ports by cutting them to hold a 120mm. the one i got at SVC was real nice for 3.99. this wouldnt give me the problem of those LOUD things cuz i could just crank it down with the fan controller...although i still dont know which fans to put on the controller. when my new ones come in ill have the 4 case fans, one cpu, one gpu...but for another 10 bucks i could get a 2nd fan controller, the 3 pin extension cables for it, and the 120mm fan from SVC.

EDIT: about the top fan, thats centered exactly right? i think thats one of the reasons it looks so good, seems like its right between the length and width of the case. how'd you measure it out? my guess is, its gunna be a little tough since the top panel doesnt come off. should i draw a circle on the inside, or tape it off, or what? i guess im gunna have to strip down my case as much as possible to the bare grey metal and the blue top part which doesnt come off. when i do this, ill cut the hole for the front 120mm fan too just so i dont have to take out my mobo n everything again--its gonna be a real pain. think the 120mm on the front is a better idea than putting 80's there? i do want it to be quiet...the 120s run fairly slow right, just that the size lets them push more?
