Media Player 10.00.00.3646

I've tried repairing and uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Media Player as well as any plugins associated with it that I can find in add/remove but nothing seems to have helped. I did find out that the problem is in playing the streaming video, not downloading it. I can press the stop button before the buffer is finished loading and then download the file directly usually. it's not the best way, but it works. I'd still like to figure out what the problem is though.
