It could be the CD-Rom, but more than likely it is the files you are burning or the CD-Burning Software.
Go to
http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/te...es/search.html and get a program called MP32Wav. This program will convert the MP3 files to a wav format which you then burn, if it still skips then uninstall the burning software and reinstall it. Also defrag your hard drive.
As far as burning at the slowest speed, that is BS as far as I am concerned, the fack is that the sampling rate that the music was encoded at and the frequency are the determining factor in quality not burn speed.
