Some info which may help:
1. there is a 25 pin scsi cable end ... it requires a scsi card/adapter to work. It does not go in the LPT port.

2. there is also a 25 pin scsi parallel adapter ....the originals were "Trantor" adapters ... they converted the scsi to parallel; plugged into the LPT port and did not require a separate scsi adapter. Other makers have manufactured similar products later ... tho they are rarely seen now.

3. Most commonly, older scanners worked off the parallel port ...but then they were not scsi scanners ... but parallel port scanners.
