having 2 routers on the same network is usually not recommended as it is difficult to configure. You really only need to use the WRT54G. The WLAN and the Internet light are supposed to flicker, they do on my WRT54G and it works fine. Go into your browser and go into the configuration settings of the WRT54G, its IP address is 192.168.1.1 go into the wireless settings and make sure the wireless mode is set to 'both' or g-only if your laptop supports it. Post back with your progress and I'll try to help you get your wireless network going.
