I would suggest getting a DVD+/-RW and putting all valuable files onto discs. Then if your drive does go capluey, you'll still have all your favorite music, photos, videos, and downloads. Also, you could just get another drive, use one for the operating system, and one for the stuff you want to keep. I use WD Caviars, and I've never had one go bad on me yet, I know that other people have, but so far I've been lukcy I guess.
