Well, not exactly. It is based off of a next-gen card, but it is a stripped down, lower pipeline card, whereas the 9800 Pro was pretty much the best of its gen. The 6600 GT is only 15-20% faster then the 9800 Pro in the 3dmark's I've seen. So yea, I'd be surprised. I have a 7800 GT which is more then a generation ahead of the 6600 GT, and it even drops into the 20's on F.E.A.R. on all high settings with 2X AA and soft shadows and V-sync.

My point to my original post was not to say that the 6600 GT is not a good card, but rather that it would struggle playing next-gen games at settings above medium. I stand by this.
