Not really. If you want it you're just going to have to pay. The RAM is probably out of production because of low demand...but for those who need it they're going to pay whatever price the market allows.
For a long time we've been lucky to have RAM at pretty low prices. I remember paying $150 for only 16MB of 72 pin FPM RAM (actually 2 8MB sticks at $75 each) back in 1994...I upgraded so my computer had 32MB total.
When 512MB SDRAM sticks of RAM first became available they probably cost over $400 each.
