Welcome to PC Mechanic !!

RAID is not required for video editing, not to mention I'm not a fan of it due to the risk of data loss. If you go with RAID 5 to protect data, then you quad your price.

Maxtors are my favorite drives, but I'd go with the Dia Max 10 series with 16MB cache. They are so fast that the give the famous Raptors a run for the money, even beating it in some benchmarks. The 300GB drive has been on sale for around $115 at Newegg a lot lately. You'll need the space over 120GB in a RAID config.

I'm not knocking Abit, but they are geared toward OCers and are rumored to be a little finicky. I'd take a look at some Asus mobos, as they are known for stability and reliability, and are pretty fast, too.
