Find Hidden iTunes Folders
I have iTunes on a PC. I cannot load the iTunes store on the computer that I use most of the time. I looked up solutions to the problem in the Apples support website. I tried them all. Most of the solutions said to adjust your firewall, router or anti-malware software settings. I have another computer in the garage that uses the same exact router, firewall and anti-malware. On this computer I loaded iTunes and I am able to access the iTunes store from there. So probem is obviously none of those possible reasons.
I tried deleting and re-installing iTunes. I first disconnected my data drive where I have my ITunes library stored so I would not accidentally delete my iTunes library. My iTunes library is on a separate drive from my C: drive. I noticed in re-installing iTunes that it came up with my old settings....this means there are iTunes files that do not get deleted when you delete iTunes, otherwise how could it know my previous settings? I suspect the hidden files that do not get erased are the cause of me not being able to access the iTunes store (corrupt files?) and I would like to wipe them and reinstall iTunes completely from scratch on my C drive....other than my iTunes library of course. I also called tech support and they want me to pay $49 for phone tech support so I can have the privilege of purchasing things from the iTunes store. What arrogance. Where are these hidden iTunes files that do not get deleted when you re-install iTunes?

Maybe it's some entries left in the registry. Good luck with that.

Probably a bug or a problem on their end, or something that was fixed through automatic updates.

Open terminal and write defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE and now relaunch finder by typing killall Finder done.

That only works on Mac OS. He's on Windows... and I think he musta solved his problem by now, just by looking at the dates.

Yes, problem solved. But thanks anyway.
![]() An iTunes patch solved it. It must have been a chronic problem. |
