Itunes not uninstalling

I'm trying to uninstall iTunes to re-install it on my girlfriends laptop. Here's the dilemma, when attempting to uninstall iTunes it says please wait while windows configures iTunes. Then I get a pop-up with "There was an error creating a temporary file that is needed to complete this installation."

Any help on how to fix this issues would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Simp.

Assume she is using Windows 7 or Vista. From what I gather, Apple makes many registry entries that do not get completely flushed. Here is the proper procedure that I got from a link within Microsoft Answers Forum.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
