iOS6 ...

Late yesterday I updated my iPad 2 .

Outside of the 35 minutes or so it took, I had no problems so here's the deal :
1. You need at least 2.2Gb free.

2. I did the update over wifi, make sure the iPad is fully charged or make sure it's plugged in.

3. Do any "housekeeping" first.

4. Yes you can get the new YouTube app and your previous favorites go into a separate folder in the Safari browser.

5. The "site not found" error has be fixed but there does seem to be an on going problem with Linksys routers that haven't been updated (may also be fixed by now).

6. Do not interrupt the process!
You can split it in half, download and install later (Apple gives you the option) but if it's in the middle of something let it alone!

I got mine yesterday. Didn't take maybe 10 minutes max. I like it.

You had the sense to wait most of the reason mine took so long was because I was in the middle of the "download rush".

I have read that you need to go through all the settings and turn some things off to avoid killing your data plan.

I didn't even know there was such a thing, am such a dinosaur on these things. I got a pop-up yesterday when turned it on. You're right about space and needing battery charged, something I checked b4 saying ok.

I noticed prior to this that I was using Cell, so switched over to IPad Wi-Fi. Top left hand corner was the clue, plus it saying no signal at times. Just so happen to be in same room where cell has that problem.

Unless AT&T is giving you unlimited data, you need to go through that.

I'd never caught it but for lousy service in this room. Until bill came. Thanks for the heads up. Hope others check theirs.

I'll stick with version 5, thank you.
