RIVA TNT2 m64 not working

I have a Sniper 2 RIVA TNT2 m64 that is seeming to not work in windows 2000 Server.
I installed the card, booted the PC and it went into 640x480:16bit while it figured out the drivers. It installed all the drivers (and they were correct) however apon rebooting it gets past the fullscreen "Starting Win2k Server" screen then goes to a blank screen and does nothing. I can start in Safe Mode and Standard VGA Mode and they work, just not normal mode.
Linux Red Hat detected the video card and installed the drivers correctly and works fine with it.
Any suggestions?

You probably don't have a plug and play monitor, and it's setting the default resolution and refresh rate out of the monitor's capability. In safe mode, delete all monitors out of device manager and reboot, this should get it into Windows with compatible settings.
