New drive wrong partition

Just replaced my old 60gb harddrive with a new one,120gb,and partitioned it 50/50 but knpw realise that i need 3 equal partions,what do i do,also when i partitioned it only half of the drive was available.

To resize partitions without destroying data, you need a third-party software tool like Partition Magic.

Do you have anything on the HDD that you don't want to lose? If not, just back up what you do need, and start over. This would probably be the simlest way to go.

I want to add one or two new partitions to an existing FAT32 master drive running Win 2000. It currently has two partitions, one for the OS and one for all data. I want to delete the so-called data parition and create two or three instead on one.
All that is on this partition now is 'My Documents' and recycle.

I copied My Documents to a second drive (slave) and tried to delete the folder, My Docs. It said it was a system folder and could not be deleted.

So, how can I either shrink the existing Data partition so I can create a new one or just delete/reformat the existing partition? I fear if I try to reformat I will end up with a can of worms and then need to write for more help!

You need Partition Magic to shrink it. You can delete it in Disk Management.

NOTE that Disk Management cannot create a FAT32 partition larger than 32gb. If you are not booting multiple operating systems, you should convert everything to NTFS.
