Has anybody used Trend Micro's Housecall?

It's an amazing service!!! I have an old version fo PC-Cillain 2002 but it just doesn't cut it. I like trend micro so I decided to pay a visit to their website to see what new products they have. And I found this house call. It scans your entire computer and removes any Viruses/Trojans. It removed 11 Trojans from my computer. Great service. Try it out. I'm sure there are other programs out there by Norton and such but I'm a fan of Trend Micro. Just thought I'd let PCM know.

Yep - I always use <a href="http://housecall.trendmicro.com">Housecall</a> when the antivirus doesn't detect something I found. I always recommend it to people with some form of viri they want to remove as a step of precaution. Of course, it would work on this computer, because I have TrendMicro OfficeScan NT already installed on here :D .

I use it occasionally just to be sure Norton's is doing it's job and I recommend it as a first stop to anyone who suspects they've got trojans on their comp.

I have a big list of online virus scaners but I usualy use that, its often recomended by members of the forum

I use it all the time at work... people get a virus.. it knocks them off the net... easy.. boot to safe mode with network support, go to housecall and do the cleanup, bill them a flat rate of 2 hours.

I'm like Hal, use it all the time to clean up a customer machine without a lot of headaches. Quick, accurate and painless.

Trend Micro also has a standalone Sysclean product - I keep it on my USB key to scan machines that can't even get on the Net or when I don't want to twiddle my thumbs while the Housecall defs slooooowwwwwwwly load over a dialup.

GLC, what is this stand alone product called? I'd like to get a copy of that, how much does it cost, and how big a USB key would I need to use it? Thanks!

Its just a little free program trendmicro makes, just go on their site and search for sysclean. The program is about 1.5mb and the virus defenitions are about 4Mb zipped, it will say all that on the site.

Unzipped, sysclean.com is 1.5mb, and the pattern files are 8.6mb. You need to download sysclean.com and the current standard Trend pattern files, they come zipped, just unzip the lpt$vpn.xxx file into the same folder as sysclean.com and run it.
