Internet Explorer Problem

I am running IE 5.50 with win98SE and starting about 2 weeks ago I started getting whenever I go into IE it goes to the following address:

about:blank

which appears to be a search page. I then enter yahoo.com and reset that to my homepage, however if I close IE and then go back in; it reset to about:blank

I have ran virus scan, adware, and spysweeper. I have also reset IE to default settings and even reloaded IE but I just can't get rid of this. Please help??????????????

update 2 internet explorer 6, first. that is not a search page, it is the blank website default. post a hijack this log.
