i'm still having trouble with an ifrared device but i have a different question.
the IR device is linked thru a 4 port mini hub to one of my three onboard USB ports.
The IR device wants to recognised down COM port 1 or 3.
How can i divert the USB to a COM port.
It's a bizarre problem but i had it working today.after i finished i could hear the USB disconnect sound several times and now it wont work probably unless i reinstall the IR driver.
In device manager the IR device is listed under infrared not in the USB section.
also i lose the icon saying there is another computer/IR device in range.

Any ideas
TIA
JP

Do a search for adapters, I know I've seen them.

I know that some of the PDA software can assign a serial port to USB so it seems it can be done, unfortunately I don't know how to do it.
