We have one PC at the office right now with Windows 2000 on it, whose user's password was forgotten. Is there a way I can disable the password. If I reinstall the Windows 2000, can it solve the problem. Thanks

i think due to the forum faq, no one here is allowed to tell you howto get around or crack the password, however ican tell you that reinstalling windows will do the trick.

If the password is to logon to a Win2000 network, contact the system administrator = who should have a User Management tool that can unlock/change the password for you.

If this is just a password for a non-networked standalone PC, is it asking for a password before it boots into Windows (a Bios password), or is it at the Win2k logon prompt?

[p.s. ...next time you'll want to post this one over in the WinNT/2000/XP forum]

Hi again

Sorry, I had to tend to some little ones having a hard time sleeping [too excited about an upcoming trip] . . .

Jimmy's suggestion should work. . . I was rather trying to avoid answering that directly right away, since I haven't read over the forum faqs in a while. We'll assume that you have the authorization to make the repair!

Best of luck
. . . Gary
