I "upgraded" a clients PC from Win 98se to Win ME. Did a clean install of Win ME, didn't upgrade Win 98.
It has a Zoom Dualmode PCI modem model 2925. (New mobo, doesn't have ISA slots so it HAS to be PCI, UGH!)
Now the computer either won't connect to an ISP (or other modem for that matter). OR it is very unstable, disconnects after a few minutes. Sometimes see error codes, 680,645, 630.
Win ME has the "dialing" properties where it will disconnect for various reasons, not at x% of connection speed. I disabled that.
I've contacted Zoom, they sent me AT command to try. Thought I had one that was stable. (Stayed connected for 4 hours.)
Sent computer to the client. She can't stay connected. Same problems I had initially. I verified that the initialization string is still there that I used.
This modem had a rock solid connection with Win98. I've applied the latest drivers etc.
Any help out there ??
Thanks.
