im a gamer and i know that lenux runs faster than windows and i was wondering if there is any free way to run windows games in lenux i have not instaled lenux yet

If you mean Linux, then it is only "faster" in the sense that you can do many things from a command line, cutting away the extra GUI that bogs down a computer. With a GUI is tends to be a wee bit slower seeing as how drivers for graphics cards are not as fine tuned on Linux as they are on Windows, since the user base is so much slimmer.

And Linux will not be a good idea if all you plan to do is play games. A dualboot setup would be good if you wanted to try Linux, or maybe a Live CD(Linux running off of a CD). Then you can use Linux, then boot up into Windows for gaming, and back to Linux.

UT2k4 can be run on Linux(Has an actual Linux installer I believe...), as well as other games, just if you are running it in an emulator type program such as WineX then you will not get the performance you would in Windows assuming it runs at all.

ok so if i understand you right i would be beter off gaming in windows and using lenux for other things i know you can setup a dual operating system pc but i dont know exactry how my hard drive is partitioned and ready to install linux if im in linux can i view files from the windows side of the hard drive or not thx for the help

Im using mandrake 10 and I can access files from windows while in linux. I just can not move them. Like i can play movie and video files but i cant move them to a different folder.
