I have 2 computers in a small office. They have been locally networked through the telephone lines with a Linksys Phoneline 10M network which has worked great for several years. I recently purchased DSL for one of the computers. Is there a router that will link the 2nd computer to internet through my existing Phoneline network?

Thanks Hal. This appears to be the router that I was trying to find. Just for confirmation, I am assuming that I would not need any Ethernet connections -- just the DSL modem, HomeLink Phoneline 10M and the Linksys Hpro200 router. Is that correct?

Correct, but you CAN use Ethernet also. I would use Ethernet for the computer physically located at the router and the phoneline for the other one because the router has to plug into a phone jack - which is probably the one you are using for the computer's phoneline card now.

I don't think that I can use Ethernet since I do not have a card or input jack on either computer. However, there is one on the DSL modem.

The users guide at Linksys describes the installation with an Ethernet connection just as you suggested. That's what prompted my second question. Will it still work with only phoneline connections? If so, do I make the Ethernet connection to the DSL modem? As you can see I am still confused.

The router has 2 Ethernet jacks - one for WAN (DSL/cable modem) and one for LAN. You will be using the WAN port for sure. I *think* you can do this - plug the phone cord that's presently coming from the wall jack to one computer into one of the HPNA jacks on the router, and connect a phone cord from the other HPNA jack on the router to the HPNA card on the computer. However, I would spend the $10 and put an Ethernet card into the computer, it will make for easier administration and your DSL setup may require that you preconfigure using Ethernet on a standalone machine anyway before introducing a router into the equation.

Note that with DSL you will have to install filters on all the jacks except the one to the DSL modem unless you have dedicated line DSL.
