Monitor problems

Hello, I purchased a used HP Pavillion 6330,I have attached a Sony trinitron Multiscan 15sx,the picture is very choppy when moving the page up and down,I have downloaded latest flash player and latest direct x.I am adding more memory,it has 46 mb installed with windows me.It has onboard memory ,is there a way to increase shared memory ,with the onboard video,it also only has one setting for display 16 colors and 640x 480.I can barely make out some of the words on some pages, the color is not good,and i used this monitor on another system and it was fine,any suggestions

Sounds like it may need video drivers.

Take a look in the device manager under Display Drivers. Do you have something that says "default" and/or with an exclaimation point?

Hello Force Flow,under diplay adapters it says standard PCI Graphics adapter,no exclamation,no yellows on monitor either.

Are you *sure* you are using onboard graphics, and not a PCI video card?

It doesn't look like there are drivers available for that video card with windows ME. It would probably be best if you put windows 98SE on there instead.

Thanks Force Flow,i guess i will have to consider changing the os

well I changed my os to 98SE,it is definitely better,but the images are so hazy,it is like looking through night vision goggles,not that i have ever looked through night vision goggles , but the choppy movements are not as bad.

What do you mean by "the images are hazy"?

The colors are not solid,when an image is on page ,a picture, it is not clear,fuzzy, very hard on the eyes
