I have a network in my home but ran into a problem with it this week.
I have a Linksys 802.11B wireless 4 port router & Modem that is cabled to my computer, my daughters & a wireless card to a laptop that my wife uses. For some reason the laptop is having a problem locating the server. the 2 cabled boxes are fine & if I hook up the laptop to a cable it works fine also but wont pickup the server connection when using the wireless card even though the signal strength is very good to excellent. I was looking at the port settings to possibly work some bitorrent stuff but the only thing I changed was the WEP setting & then didn't even use it & changed it back. It was after this that we started having the connection issue. I even reset the router to see if this would solve the problem but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying the WEP is enabled? If it is, you need to tell your laptop what the code is so it can access the router.

I never set a code to start with & went back in changed it back to the default
because I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. There is a small reset button on the back of the router & even using that didn't seem to help.

Reset the Router a 2nd time & everything works fine now.

Problem was fixed by reseting the router a couple of times. Thanks for reply.
