bad change?

i had a intel celeron processor with like 500 some mghz and i change my mother board and got an amd with like 750mghz so when i reformatted everything and started to u my dsl modem it runs like a regular modem(speed wise) and when i scroll down screens it doesnt go down smooth, like a line comes makes a new screen i dont understand shouldnt this have made my comp faster and better help

why don't you try tuning up the refresh rate of your monitor and see if it helps?

I am not totally sure if this will help but maybe that is the problem.

Post the complete system specs of that computer.

Did you install all the necessary drivers for the motherboard and other components?

What operating system are you using?

Sometimes integrated graphics needs to have the drivers installed before they will correctly render and/or have all of the 'features' they should have. Typically I had to install mine before smooth scrolling was available when I had onboard video.

for refresh rate.....right click desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor. you should also check the box that says "hide hide modes this monitor will not display", that one can save your monitor if youre using too high a refresh rate.

i followed your steps but when i got to the moniter screen it just read deafult moniter then a button that says properties that i cant click on and moniter setting whihc says

and the box to chek is there but i cant click on it

As mentioned above and in your sound problem thread, you NEED to install the drivers for your hardware in order for them to work on something other that XP default drivers. You should have received a CD with that motherboard that has the necessary drivers. That is always step 2 in building a computer, right after you install your os (XP in this case). If you don't have the driver cd, you'll have to download the correct drivers from the manufacturers site or a driver site.
