Any good capture software?

Ive got an ATI TV Wonder VE TV Tuner card, but im starting to lose it over their MMC Software. I have to reinstall it on a regular basis. So, does anybody know of any (preferably free) TV Capture Software?

Just curious, but will virtualdub work with the record function, meaning if ATI's software is set to record a show while I'm not around, will it kick in?
