Differences between a pcl5c to a pcl6 print driver

When dealing with HP printers most of the time (if not all) you are given a choice of pcl5c or pcl6 driver. Most of the time out of habit I choose pcl6 and so far everything has been good. But what is the difference between the two?

PCL5C is the latest color PCL, PCL6 is the latest monochrome PCL. If you are asking the difference between PCL5 and PCL6 monochrome, 6 is better as long as all your applications get along with it - some older Windows apps will work with 5 but not 6. I usually install both and make the 6 the default. For example, I believe one of the apps that doesn't like 6 is WordPerfect 7.
