Recently I've switched from using Windows Media Player to Winamp for playing all forms of media on my computer and have come across a small annoyance. Back when I played songs in Windows Media Player, I liked using the controls at the top of the keyboard (i.e. Play, Volume up/down, next/previous). Since switching to Winamp, I can still turn the volume up and down using these buttons, but can't change or pause songs. Any ideas on how to configure it for winamp? In keyboard properties, the assigned buttons say "Switch to next media" and "Play," but how does it know which media player? Thanks for any help.

I googled: "mapping media controls keyboard winamp" and found the following thread:

to paraphrase, if you download Intellitype, install it, then edit the mapping for the "Media" button to reflect winamp.exe then you should be golden.

...its worth a try.
