Hi Ho

I am bored so I thought I'd post a poll. What's your favorite Cola? For me it's definetly CocaCola. Always has been, always will be. I especially like VanillaCoke. A very close second, however, is Safeway Select. It is just so good.

Dr. Pepper.

definently dr. pepper, then coke/cherry coke, then pibb extra. no pepsi though, I personally can't stand the stuff. Other pepsi products are good though, slice and mountain dew.

Diet Mountain Dew - no cola! At least until I got to Ottawa this week and could't find and Dew. Tried some Lime Diet Coke. Not bad, drinking a glass right now.

Pepsi. I'll drink Coke, but only if there's nothing else that I like. And I can't stand any of the Vanilla colas either.
But my favorite soft drink is ginger ale.

I concur - Vanilla coke was an interestingly awkwardly tasting...drank it twice, never drank it again. My favorite is Arizona Iced Tea...I know, I'm a bit out of the loop here ;)

I'm thinking its a generic store brand cola. A lot of grocery stores around here call it Best Choice or Save brand.
Hi Ho

Safeway Select is Safeway's store brand. It's a lot better than any store brand I have tasted. Almost as good as Coke. BTW, Vanilla Coke is best when it's REALLY cold. :)

The only Dr. Pepper bottler to use pure cane sugar vs corn sweetener.

1/2 gallon of tea/coffee a day. I didn't drink any soda for about five years, but started again when I moved here. I drink maybe two a week, they are always Dr. Pepper. I live in Dr Pepper country, all the restaurants have it and all store fountains have it.
nothing like good ol' fashioned Faygo cola....if youre from MI you know what it is. they have like 30-something flavors of pop. my favorite pop is Mountain Dew hands down.

I know Dew doesn't count as a cola, but it's the only soda I drink. One can a day, at lunch, or else I get a caffeine headache...

I have never figured out why Mountain Dew is so popular. I personally can't stand the stuff.

I like Coca Cola and Pepsi about equally. To tell the truth, since I've never had them in direct comparison (ie drink one right after the other) I can't tell the difference between them.

Dr. Pepper for me, followed closely by Budweiser.....lol. I do like Coke but only when ice cold. I have a friend who is a die hard Coke fanatic, I swear he can drink a 12 pack in a night of gaming. Every year he gives it up for Lint and every year he is grumpy as hell for 40 days. The last two years he has been at my house and at 12:01 he is cracking open a cold Coke.

Cherry Coke is first for me. I think the generic colas are very good too. If I had to choose between Coke and Pepsi, I would choose Coke.
Dont like coke or pepsi or soda all that mutch, usually i drink Manhattan Special or Boyland Root Beer.

I have never figured out why Mountain Dew is so popular.
I think the big draw is that it contains approx. twice the caffeine of a regular soda. That's key for me! :D

I can, and have, done just that. :D You know another really good kind of soda? Thomas Kemper. It's made over in Seattle and I don't know if it's available everywhere but they have some really good vanilla cream, ginger ale, and orange cream soda's. Their ginger ale has pure ginger in it and it is sooo strong I almost can't drink it. They put real vanilla, honey, and cream in their soda too. It's just so good.

I use to prefer Coke. But, ever since Coke C2 came out, I have been in nirvana!:D I just about can't get enough C2. My only problem is keeping it from my son. Several weeks back I bought 2 18 can packs of C2. Before I could even drink 2 of them, he had guzzled about 25 cans!! That kid can drink like a fish.:( Sure didn't leave much for his poor ole' dad. :( thorl6 :D

TrippinJedi

C2 is Coca-Cola with half the sugar and carbs
Hi Ho
08-01-2004, 02:25 PM
CocaCola C2 has half the sugar and tastes different than regualar Coke. It's not like diet. It's actually quite good. I only like it when it's really cold and in a can.

Actually, the sugar in the drink IS the carbs. Although not all carbs are bad for you. That's why all overweight people, (myself included  ) needs to avoid sugar and starches (which are also carbs). But, sometimes you just gotta have a Coke! :D thorlo6

Yeah that stuff is supposed to have somethign like twice the amount as mountain dew, although I have never personally had it. I want to try it though. See how loaded it gets me. I wish I could have one tomorrow morning. I have to be up at 8:15 to go to work. I am still wasting time on this forum..lol!
Manhattan Special is pure expresso ;) So its got quite a good amount of caffiene in it.

I drink Super Chill Diet Cola, which is a store brand of Cub Foods up here in the Midwest. Tin might know of it, not sure. Has a little bit more of a fruity taste to it than Diet Coke does, but before this was exclusively Diet Coke.

I remember Surge. I don't remember hearing about it being dangerous but I don't think it's around anymore. I think it tasted like Mountain Dew with more caffine.

That was back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. In the mid 1930's they established the Food & Drug Administration which began to regulate the Pharmaceutical Industry. Shoot back in the 1890's you could buy Laudenum over the counter. Laudenum is tincture of Opium. However, They soon started soaking the Coca leaves in running water to dissolve and remove the cocaine. Short history lesson. :D thorlo6

Most of the COKE and PEPSI locations have our phone systems, so get to visit them from time to time and it's amazing how big the soda pop industry is. They act like it's a major emergency like the white house or something when their phones go down. It's hard for me to get into the swing of the seriousness that they place on it, but of course I do realize that they are a business just like any other and phones down can mean lost revenue so I do my best to get things back to normal for them as with any other customer. Country clubs are my other one that I have a hard time realizing the seriousness of down phones at..
