TV out on Radeon 9600?

I've got a Radeon 9600 (128MB) and I have connected it to my PC. Now my problem is that I only get to see the picture that is my desktop background, but not any of the icons or other stuff. Anyone know how to fix this?

I don't think that's a hardware problem as much as it may be a software problem - explorer.exe is probably not booting up correctly. Do you get the start menu and stuff near the bottom? If not, when you get to that screen, hit ctrl+alt+del and go to Task Manager. Go to processes. Search to make sure explorer.exe is on the list. If not, switch to the application tab, click on New Task, type in "explorer.exe" without quotes.

I fixed it already. Sorry I edited the post and made it too short. My actual problem was that I couldn't see anything on the tv I connected to my videocard. I fixed that so now I can watch Naruto on my tv :D
