If got a few microsoft trackball opticals. they have gotten extremely sticky, to the point were I can't get the ball to move downward without a lot of effort. On the old MS trackballs, you could take the ball out and clean the rollers, but is there anything on this new model to take apart and clean?

Is there a ring around the ball itself, between it and the housing ?
If there is look for a really small, straight pin point size, hole in it.
On my Logitech that's what I use to release the ball from the housing so I can clean the contact points ( no more rollers ) with a toothpick and wipe out the cavity with a damp cloth.
I also wash the ball and make sure everything is dry before I put it back together.

Thanks, Pam. You got me to look a little closer at it, and I'm a bit chagrinned--it's so easy. There's an opening on the bottom of the unit, just by pushing up through that opening you can pop the ball right out. Couldn't be easier. I cleaned it and know it works just fine.
