Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me.

It seems that I may have a virus because suddenly my Notebook computer froze on me and when I re-booted it I can’t access any of my:

-drives
-no run command
-If I click on any software programs I get a message on my screen-
-Cannot restore a previous point- No access
“Windows cannot open this file: Rundll32.exe
-I get a message "Low resolution let windows correct it"

To open this file Windows needs to know what program created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer.

-I don’t have access to the internet any more.
-I tried re-booting and in safe mode activating but that didn’t work.
-I tried system restore but it froze on me and tells me their are no previous dates.
-I talked to Microsoft and on a separate computer download software:
-ad-ware
-stinger
[B]But I can’t activate any of my drives.
Hope some can give me some suggestion. My last resort is to use my Recovery CD.

Thank You,
John V.

If you have a Norton Antivirus CD I believe that it is bootable and you can run a virus scan.

Yep! What he said. A Norton factory CD should be bootable. 2004 has a pre-install scanning feature that will check for any files that may interfere with installation of Norton.
