Hi, I need to install my sound card but I don’t have a clue what it is.
I can’t find my disk, which I think, has it. I have opened up the PC to look for its manufacture details but had no luck.
Sounds dumb but, is there any way I can install it without knowing what it is?
Please if you reply explain in detail what I need to do as I’m not very good with PC’s.
Many thanks.

Are you talking about installing drivers for on-board sound ? If you are and have lost the disc that came with the motherboard; you will need to determine the brand and model of motherboard. Then go to the manufactures web site and download drivers from there.

The sound card is an actuall hardware device, You can hold it in your hand Like a proccesor chip, or RAM chip, It can not be on a disk.
Unless you are talking about drivers, which are on a disk.
Now what exactly are you trying to do? Hook up the Sound CARD into computer? or install drivers for it to function?

Without knowing your exact motherboard model, it's hard to tell, but you might be able to find audio drivers somewhere in here: http://www.aliusa.com/eng/product/corelogic/m1647.htm

Glad you got it sorted out. I probably could have pointed you in the right direction from the get-go if I had known your mainboard brand and model, but at least you got it working. :)
