AGP compatibility

I'm interested in buying the AIW ATI 9600 XT that is compatible with AGP 8x/4x slot. I currently have an Intel 845PE chip set with an AGP bus protocols of 4x/2x modes at 1.5V. I wanted to know if this video card would be compatible, and if yes, will there be any potential problems or any performance issues because I can't run at 8x. Thanks.

Yes, both the motherboard and card supports 4x so they are compatible. I saw a little difference when I upgraded my Geforce4 MX 440 for 4x to 8x, although with a card more powerful I don't know what the difference will be like.
