PCI comunication device

What can I say ????
Running win98 and cant get sound to work at all there is a PCI communication device shoWing up in the system that has a problem. Can anyone help????? :mad:

oisin, what is the name of the mainboard ? If you don't want to open the pc, you can download Everest (http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en) which is an utility that can give you the name of the mainboard or even details of the sound card and communications device (probably an old modem) so you know which drivers to download/install.

A flagged PCI communication device is a dialup modem. Needs the correct drivers. An unrecognized PCI sound card or chip would show as a flagged PCI multimedia controller - same deal, install the drivers.
