I'm looking to replace my old HP B/W fax and printer that finally died.

I am looking to replace it with something color. I don't need a scanner, because I already have a flat bed.

Can anyone suggest a model or make?

Thanks

What's the budget and what exactly will you use it for? I've had an Epson printer for the last four years, and although ink runs out <i>very</i> fast, it prints quality stuff.

Hope that helps,
kram

They don't make all-in-ones without scanning capability any more. If you need a fax and printer, you will get the copier and scanner as part of the deal. You can still get them in sheetfed only so you don't have the extra footprint of the flatbed. I still like the HP OfficeJet line.

My budget is about $300 - 500. dollars. Nothing too fancy, just a good color fax and printer.

Thanks

Cannon makes some VERY nice printers. I have been sold on Cannon ever since I saw what they can really do. Take a look at THIS (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=28-102-130&depa=0) one.

I've been using a Cannon printer for a couple of years, and it's the best one that I've ever used. Some of the HP printers were good, but not as a good as this one. Seriously, I don't think you need to spent that much to get a decent fax and printer. However, keep in mind that ink can often be costly, so look for one that has a large capacity if you are going to spend the bucks.

I bought a Canon MP730 multifunction.

I configured my home so that the kids computer and my laptop in the kitchen can print off my stand alone Canon S800 via a wireless printer server. Then I hooked up the MP730 directly to my PC. It was a bit of pita getting everything networked and functioning, but it finally did.

This set up made sense since the multifunctionality of the MP730 did not allow it to print off the wireless server.
