are there any differences between the power cable for SATA drives and IDE drives?

are there PSU's wich have a power connection for SATA and some wich don't have it?

are there special converters to change the IDE power cable to a SATA power cable?

Thanks very much

Yep. But some SATA hard drives, like Maxtor I believe, also have the classic connection, so you can use that instead of the SATA power plug (but then hotplug won't work).
If your desired SATA drive does not have the classic connector, and your PSU does not have SATA power plugs, then all you need is an adapter (for classic power plug to SATA).

Yep.

Yep. They cost about $2 and look like this (http://www.kingdomkomputers.co.uk/images/Sata-power.jpg).
