Harddrive files ruined!

When i transferred my harddrive from my computer to my cousins, XP rearranged the data of the files on startup so that when i open an mp3, a completely different track plays from another folder.

I think it may be due to the fact that the bus of the harddrive is 133MHz while the controller of my cousin's motherboard is 100MHz and that is why XP did that.

If anyone can help out, any info would be greatly appreciated. :D

The bus has nothing to do with the arrangement of files, transferred or not. Some more details might be helpful. Are you opening the file from Windows Explorer or from a playlist? Are there multiple copies of the file on the computer? What program are you playing them with?

you are using Winamp right? if there's a MP3 in the list wich isn't on your disk anymore or wich is relocated, winamp will play the next file it can find

What happened was when i put the harddrive into my cousins computer for the first time, XP scanned the disk and rearranged the files somehow, thats why i think it has to do with the bus.

Im opening the file in explorer and through winamp playlist aswell. The same thing happens exactly, its the actual data of the file which has been rearranged.

The playlist in winamp is ok, some of the files play something completely different, while others have no data in them and therefore skips onto the next track.
