Hey guys,
just bought an ATI Wonder VE for my computer (I'm running Windows 98SE with Direct X 8.1, and my vid card is an ATI Radeon 64 meg). I had a bit of trouble installing it, but finally managed to figure everything out, once I downloaded and re-installed newer drivers from the ati website.
The problem is this. After I install the drivers & restart the computer after, the card works fine. However, afterward, if I shutdown the computer and start it again, or restart it for some reason, the TV card (or rather the TV viewer application) doesn't work. I get an error message saying that I should check the Windows Device Manager to see if the drivers are properly installed. Simply put, I have to reinstall the drivers everytime I shutdown the computer.
That's not all. The same problem occurs whenever I play a computer game (which, I believe, uses Direct3D). When I finish playing and quit the game, and try to watch TV, I get the same error message.
So obviously, the card is working fine. I'm thinking I have a conflict between my TV Wonder drivers and my Radeon drivers, or something like that. Might also be something else. I was wondering if you guys might know a way to resolve that annoying problem (other than uninstalling all the drivers for both the TV Wonder and the Radeon).
Thanks!!
