running 3 SATA western digital hds together does not seem to work

My system Spec is :

AMD Barton 3000
Lanparty Motherboard
3 x 250GB SATA western digital hardisks
1 x 160 IDE Seagate Hardisk
1GB Corsaire value ram
Pioneer A08 DVDR
Samsung cd writer / dvd player combo
ATI Radeon 9800 128mb
Globalwin SAF520 saphire power unit
chenbro game bomb case

I am having problems running all 3 SATA drives together, i can run any combination of 2 or 1 hd at a time, but when i install a 3rd, the bios does not recognise it and it does not show up in windows, my motherboard supports up to 4 sata devices, and i have tried all the different ports on all the different drives and swapped all the cables around, and still no joy. I have also tried moving the power leads around, and even purchased a new more powerful power unit (the most poweful i could buy). None of these have made any difference, and as far as i know there are no limits on how many hds you can have running together. - Any help would be great, as i am now at my wits end.

I do not know which MB You have or what the features are.....Not sure what Lanparty Motherboard is.......

I have an Asus P4C800 Deluxe which has on-board Sata. 2 of the connections are just Sata connections, However, the other 2 are for Sata RAID---and I am assuming that this is the situation on your MB. If so, You will need to go into the BIOS and enable the Sata Raid and form a RAID array. My MB will accept a One HD array. So, You should be able to leave the 2 HDs where they are and set the 3rd up in a single HD array........

The DFI LanParty boards with Intel chipsets have 4 native SATA ports. Dunno about their AMD boards, but I doubt it has 4 native SATA, so I also believe that the other two are controlled by an onboard controller, which means you need to enable the extra controller in BIOS, and also install drivers in Windows for that controller.
