As everyone knows AOL 5.0 and later has been called the "Upgrade of Death" because it takes over your Dial Up Networking when installed. (if you don't know go to
http://www.inwave.com/newinwave/aol.html ). Until recently we have been reinstalling win 98 back over the top to change these files back (AOL doesn't have to have them to work, it wants them only to control your computer). Recently I tried running SFC with a copy of win98 on my hd and letting it deal with the problem and it worked fine. It changes back the files that AOL changes without have to do all the extra work.
