Presently I'm using avg anti-virus, however was reading about avast and seems like a very good program?
What is the best in your opinions please?
Also, if you will, if I find a virus with one program and it is unable to remove or heal it, would another program be able to remove or heal it? Asking this question because know that some spyware programs will pickup where other spyware programs won't, so wondering if same thing with anti-virus programs.
Thanks for your opinions in advance...........................Sterling :)

Some catch what another is missing but you should only have one resident scanner. Its better to have 1 AV and use online scans to make sure it didint miss anything, or clean something the other couldnt. AVG seems to be the most popular but I dont like it since it will only report that you have a virus, to remove it you need to run a full scan but avast take more resources and isint as stable as AVG, so its up to you, try them both and use what you like best.
You can use eicar test virus to see how they react to viruses http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm

I use AVG and check periodically at Trendmicro/housecall for any strays. Trying to determine which antivirus is "better" or "best" is going to be a matter of personal experince and/or opinion. As long as you're getting the desired results with what you have, why change? I tend to go by the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

I use both AVG and AntiVir. Both of them run great and have never had a virus infection.
Of course that is also because I practice safe computing habits: never open e-mails from ppl I don't know, I have a firewall installed, don't visit porn sites, and don't download warez.
