Hi,

which do you use to stop popups?

I had the free version of adshield installed on my computer for at least 2 years and I never once had a problem with parasites. Then, about one or 2 months ago I got an email from them talking about an upgrade for $ and I paid no attention and then, I don't know what happened, but it sort of disinstalled itself, that's what I think. And that's when the trouble started! What a mess of popups and random toolbars just installing themselves!

Anyway, so I am not up to speed on this. The problem is that adsheild is no longer free. I heard about a google toolbar that stops popups. And then, right around the same time this mess started, I get a hotmail email from microsoft about an MSN toolbar that stops popups (but I don't know if it's internet popups or instant messaging popups? I don't use instant messaging...)

Or any others? I am on win2k and that iphost program looks like it's finicky on win2k?

thanx

The only one of the three you mentioned, that I know anything about is the ggogle toolbar, and it seems to work very well for me.

Out of those three, I would go with Google Toolbar. I am most familiar with it. But, if you wanted to try something else, you could use Firefox. It works very well, and has tons of other features that IE doesn't.

Hope that helps
